This morning, I was reading through the book of Corinthians and Ephesians, and as I reached chapter 15 of 1 Corinthians, I felt compelled to pause at verses 55-56, which say, “The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.” But what law is being referred to here?

1 Corinthians 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

It’s striking to consider that everything seems to be wrong with the world we live in today, and perhaps the world itself is the “law” being spoken about. As people of God, it’s essential that we don’t let ourselves be conformed to this world’s ways.

Verse 57: brings a powerful reminder of the victory God has given us over this world: “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Christ overcame the world, and through Him, we can overcome too.

Verse 58: is a personal reminder to each of us to be steadfast and unmovable in these times, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that our labor in Christ is not in vain.

Dear lover of God, don’t let the enemy condemn your efforts or tell you lies about your worth or the value of your work. Stand firm on God’s promises over your life. You are in Christ, and you can’t afford to loiter or become complacent.

Be aware that we live in a time filled with distractions, and the strength of sin is found in this world and things of this world. Let’s make a conscious effort to set our affections on the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.

I woke up this morning with the urge to pick up my pen and write something I’ve learned over the past few weeks.
With college coming to an end, I’ve been busier than ever, navigating busy days filled with trials. And let’s be real, trials can also be hot and sunny days sometimes! 😂
Busy days with a heavy workload and sweltering weather just don’t mix well. Our go-to solution might be to crash out, but I’d like to offer a different perspective.This is what I’ve come to realize :

your trials are where God’s presence is revealed.

And when His presence is revealed, that’s where you find the strength to persevere through life’s challenges. In moments of despair and rejection, it’s essential to remember that God is with us, just as He was with Joseph in the pit. His presence offers comfort and guidance, reminding us that we’re never alone in our struggles. So, when we face trials, should we still give up? I think I’ve found a solution for myself: finding strength in God’s presence. Because in trials, God’s presence is being revealed.
